In 2001, Charl Brown earned a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Southern California. Off Broadway: Walmartopia (Pearson/Lawrence, Dance Captain). Regional credits include: Dreamgirls (Curtis Taylor Jr.) San Diego Musical Theater, The Wiz (Scarecrow understudy, Lord High Underling/Ensemble) La Jolla Playhouse, Hair (Steve) TUTS, Sweet Charity (Daddy), Ragtime (Coalhouse), Six Degrees of Separation (Paul), Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas), A Chorus Line (Richie), Gypsy (Tulsa). Charl also appeared as Hud in the 2003-2005 European tour of Hair. European Credits include: Dames at Sea (Lucky), Star Wars Trilogy in 30 Minutes (Lando Calrisian), The Viagra Monologues, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Heidi Chronicles, Miracle Worker, Suicide Watch.
